How much were all the books in the first year?
Hi! Hopefully I am going to Cardiff to study Law in September but does anyone know what books are in the first year book list and how much they cost overall? Thanks

In the region of £150. Some spent more, others less depending on which particular textbook they chose and whether they were going to buy all the recommended books on the list or just the essential ones. I bought most of the books, apart from a few which I figured I wouldn't need very often (and when I did need them, I just use the library copies).

It's worth speaking to some second years, not only to buy 2nd hand books where possible (although make sure you always get the latest edition), but also to find out which books you really need and which ones you will only use once or not at all. There are a couple of books on my list for example which I have never read and doubt I will ever use.

Every universitys have bookshops. Ask there & you can buy the books at really cheap prices. Some uni bookshops have a board where you can post a request to other students who want to sell there first year text books.
    Goodluck
