GMAT needed for MSc Finance?
Hi there,
I want to study MSc Finance at either LSE, LBS or Imperial or MSc Accounting and Finance at LSE. It says on the website that GMAT is recommend for UK undergraduates. I am about to start my final year at a maths undergrad.
My question is; do I need to take the GMAT test to get it?? What score is needed, 650+? Has anyone got in without GMAT score and also is it worth the time and money?
Also I am currently on 2:1 BSc Maths at UCL
Thanks in advance -
Re: GMAT needed for MSc Finance?
Imperial doesn't need a GMAT.
LBS requires. BUT LBS MSc Finance is after experience, so don't think you can apply if you are in your last year of undergrad. But anyway, at LBS 650+ adds weight to your app, 700+ adds significant weight, that's what their website says.
LSE MSc Finance average GMAT is 720, Accouting & Finance average is 686 (from website). But I think there is the possibility to get in without a GMAT for UK studetns, but i think they say "we strongly reccomend yout o take it".
But with a 700+ GMAT you should get in. BUT make sure to have a good quant score. My first GMAT i got 690, but my quant percentile was 64%, so now way I would have gotten in with that. But then I retook it and got 710 with 80th percentile in quant. But 85th percentile would have been better, so aim for that.
Hope that helped, but most of this stuff you can find on their websites, just have to dig around on the websites. -

Re: GMAT needed for MSc Finance?I am wondering how long did you prepare for GMAT, and to what universities are you applying if it is not a secret.(Original post by hmmsk)
