    Accommodation deposit.
    Hi,
A few friends of mine who are going to different Universities have told me they've had to pay a deposit for their accommodation - around £600. Is this the case for Canterbury? I know you have to pay a 'non-refundable administration fee' of £100, but is that all?
    Thanks.

    Re: Accommodation deposit.
With regards to on campus accommodation managed by the University - you do not have to pay a deposit, they got rid of these a few years ago.

When it comes to renting off campus, many landlords & agents will charge you deposits - however in most cases this is safer for students as by law they must be protected in a third party scheme.

    Hope that helps.
