Re: Shaman King Society ThreadAh, Shaman King. This was your typical 'run-of-the-mill' fighting shounen series. As someone who does like the genre, I found it reasonably enjoyable.
As for why the anime adaptation ended/was shorter than most, it simply suffered the same fate as many before it and after, declining television ratings that led to cancellation. The manga itself became less and less popular as well. I still remember Shounen Jump stating that they wouldn't bother releasing the final volume if the interest wasn't there. well the endings for both the manga and the anime were pretty bad. Especially the manga's.
