personal statement HELP!
I'd be chuffed if you could help me out a little.
So, the 2 main courses i'm applying for are neuroscience and medical genetics. But, I am confused on how to write my personal statement. I can't really think of any common themes. I've got biology....how about research?
Also, can I write about things such as school trips where we did practicals like gel electrophoresis? or....
but that's not really linked to neuroscience....waaagh

Re: personal statement HELP!Have you considered emailing the relevant universities and asking if they will accept a substitute personal statement? That way you could have one for medical genetics and one for neuroscience.(Original post by zazzy-1995)

Re: personal statement HELP!Thanks!! btw...what did you apply for?(Original post by Coffeegirl)
Yes you can write about school trips but bear in mind that you don't have a lot of words so you have to be really choosy and just sell yourself. I had to edit mine and get rid of so much that was just unnecessary which can be annoying :/
good luck

Re: personal statement HELP!Thanks very much!!(Original post by PythianLegume)
The other way to write a PS for more than one course is to simply split the course-related part into 2: Write 1250 characters on medical genetics and 1250 on neuroscience. They are both essentially biology-related and so you can definitely weave them together somewhat. -
Re: personal statement HELP!Hey(Original post by zazzy-1995)
Thanks!! btw...what did you apply for?
I applied for criminology and law but only wrote about criminology ...and right now I will be studying criminology and psychology instead so a personal statement doesn't set everything in stone. You can change later
