    MSc Audiology 2012
    Hey Everyone,

Just been looking around and there doesn't appear to be any threads for MSc Audiology specifically so thought I'd post one! Just wondering how everyone is getting on with applications etc. Anyone heard anything back yet? I've applied to both Southampton and Manchester and have had offers from both but not sure which one to take. Does anyone know if either one has a better reputation/ increased liklihood of getting clinical placement after? I also have an interview for the NHS Clinical Scientist programme on Tuesday but I'm not expecting much as it appears to be v competitive! Anyway.. let me know how everyone is getting on

    Hey,

I found Tuesday's interview process quite... surreal, how did you find it? Really can't tell how it went at all! It's good that you've been accepted onto MSc at Southampton and Manchester, well done on that!

    Hi

To be honest I have no idea how it went either.. I felt I did well at 2 of the stations and the other two I was just rambling on and not giving them solid answers.. It's very hard to know if I interviewed well or not I was just so nervous! Thanks.. have you applied for the MSc or just going to wait to see how the interview went?

Hiya, sorry I didn't see your reply before now! No, I've just been applying for audiologist jobs but they seem to be sparse at the moment; with the whole AQP departments aren't really committing themselves and especially not to current/new graduates! Very frustrating. Well *only* 3 weeks til scientist... I've pretty much disregarded it to be honest after the interview and hoping for a job instead now...

    Hey,
I was just wondering what A levels and Bsc you did to get into the post-grad Audiology. I'm not to sure what I should do next year in uni :/

    Thanks

Hi! I did an Irish leaving cert so its v different to A-levels. We had to do 7 subjects. I guess the main subjects of interest for this course would be chemistry/biology side of things. Physics would be very advantageous for starting an audiology course however. My undergrad was BSc Biomedical Science! Hope this helps!

Hello I am thinking about the MSc audiology course but I ama aware it does not include any clinical training and students have to find their own placmeents afterwards, is this true? how easy is this to achieve, how do you gain the clinical experience in order to practice as an audiologist? Also does anyone know about the job market for audiologists at the moment?

    Thanks,

    Alex
