Interracial relationships - not different by colour but culture
Me and my boyfriend have been together for nearly 18 months, he is Sicilian and I am British Born Caribbean girl but what I notice is that our differences are more than just skin deep..
He's very set in his ways that he thinks a man is the breadwinner and a woman should be the home-maker and just look after the children -
This is a view I will never agree too.. I am more like an independent woman - work, drives, has my own place, studies and has always done things in my stubborn, princess-like nature. My parents brought me up to want my own of everything..
Has anyone experienced or experiencing this? -

I have something similar going on. My boyfriend is Italian and from the south whilst I'm English. I really think it's just set in their culture. I went to Italy this summer to stay with him and I noticed that the women really are meant to be housewives and stay at home, do the cooking etc. However, he understands that I don't want this sort of future for myself. It's all about communicating with each other and making him see what you want.

Seems like a odd relationship... Its like your boyfriend is sexist and your a bit of a feminist. You should just tell that you don'T accept his view on what women should be and you dont appreciate him talking about women like that.
And see what his response his, then you either break up or become stronger
Simple as! -

Yeah I think you really hit the nail on the head with your statement, but I believe it still boils down to upbringing, my mum's a single parent now and his mum is a home-maker and so is his sister for her husband..
We decided to agree to disagree and compromise on the whole house-wife situation...
Thanks again x
