What if my laptop's CD driver doesn't work?

My laptop's CD driver doesn't work. It can only drive a complete new CD at best. How can I deal with it? Or how can I repair the CD? -

Optical drives are replaceable, at the bottom it will have 2 screws specifically for it than slot it out, and than slot a new one in. -
