What if my laptop's CD driver doesn't work?
My laptop's CD driver doesn't work. It can only drive a complete new CD at best. How can I deal with it? Or how can I repair the CD?

I have the same problem. Portable drives are £10 on eBay and they work perfectly.

Are you talking about the actual dvd drive? or a CD?

Optical drives are replaceable, at the bottom it will have 2 screws specifically for it than slot it out, and than slot a new one in.

Which kind of Portable drives? Are they USB ones or replacing ones slotted in as Iqbal007 descibed?

the one he gave is an external one where you connect up with a usb.

these are the ones where you replace the internal one.

USB ones. They'd probably be better in case you need to use it on another computer or laptop and are usually cheaper too.
