I have no idea what to do next year
Hey everyone So here's my story:

I know that I don't want to do the subject I applied for this year and that I want to English instead. I've declined all the offers I received this year. I don't want to go through clearing either.

I could apply next year and take a gap year but I'm not sure that I really want to spend a whole year out of education.

I've applied to universities in Ireland too, so I could study English there this year. But that would mean that I was really far away from home and my boyfriend who will be at an English university.

I could always start a degree in Ireland and then apply to UCAS while I was there but I've been told that that's probably not a very good idea.

Or something else, I just don't know what to do What do you guys think?

Ireland sounds like a great idea, especially if you don't want a year out. You're right, there are negative aspects like being a long way from home but it would be an amazing experience and you'd have to get really stuck into uni life because you couldn't visit your boyfriend every week or go home a lot. I know someone who went over to Queens Belfast and she said it was the best decision she ever made and she found she did a lot more at uni because she couldn't always go home. She also had a boyfriend and managed to see him about once a term, but obviously they spent quite a lot of time together when she was at home. However, their relationship didn't last so it is worth considering how much you trust him, and if you think you'd manage being far apart.
Whatever you choose to do, you'll have a great time and sometimes things going 'wrong' can make you choose to do things you'd never have thought of that turn out to be the best decisions of your life.

    Good luck!
