    connecting to wireless help!
Can someone please help me connect me new laptop to my wireless internet? It has windows 7. I have a wireless router, which has loads of numbers and letters on. I have never connected to it wirelessly before, but other people have in my house. The laptop knows it has a signal, and tells me the router name sometimes, but when i search for wireless devices, its not finding it, and im right next to the router! HELP please! thank you.

Those two bolded bits directly contradict each other if I'm reading it right.

When you search for wireless networks, you should see the name of your wireless network in the list of available networks. Click connect on this and enter the password which, unless it has been changed, should be on the underside of your router. It may be called Wireless Key, WPA2 key, Password or something else. I'd imagine it'll be near the name of your wireless network which will likely be labelled as SSID. If you can take a photo of the underside of your router and upload it here, I can help more.
