Colleague saw me
I was in the supermarket earlier and my brother was winding me up about my weight so I said to him 'shut you obese' - I know it's not nice to say and he isn't overweight either. Literally seconds later the HR officer at work came round the corner and we said hello. I am worried she would have heard what I said.

I am not sure what the problem is here
You made a private comment and someone from work overheard

Re: Colleague saw meAre you worried she will think differently of you? Or are you worried he/she might tell other people who will view you more negatively?(Original post by Anonymous)

Re: Colleague saw me
Paranoid. No one cares about this kind of stuff. 0% chance she even remembers what you said. Seriously, no one is going to memorise some comment you made in your personal life that she probably didn't even hear. You didn't even say anything bad, if it was profoundly racist or disgusting you might have a point, but it wasn't.

Re: Colleague saw mePeople say their thoughts and opinions all the time, and many say what they don't even mean when angry etc. If she overheard, she would probably either have a) forgotten it by the next time she sees you b) not given a crap c) some other minimal reaction. She will definitely not think you're weird and would not tell colleagues something tiny and silly like that. Assuming you're all adults there are far more important things they could whisper to each other about. Honestly, you need not worry(Original post by Anonymous)

Re: Colleague saw meI'm assuming you were not working in the supermarket at the time.(Original post by Anonymous)

It all depends on what job you do.
If you're a student working part-time in say a pub no one will care about this. But if you were a new teacher, it would not do to behave like this in public when students at your school might see.
Your employer will only be bothered if you bring them into disrepute or if the nature of your job includes maintaining some public respect. -
Re: Colleague saw meIf that's the case, this is the worse troll I've ever seen tbh(Original post by Samrout)
I think the problem here is that there is a stinky troll afoot
