my iphone got ran over (mutiple times)
A while back I posted a thread about how my iphone 4s 32GB had gotten seriously damaged and if there was any possibility of getting a replacement for the discounted price Apple provide (they didn't in the end )
Anyways some people didn't believe that it had gotten broken so here is the proof! (I didn't want to bump the old thread so I figured I would post it here)

    "I had spent £599 on an iPhone 4S 32GB"

    More money than sense!

"I can’t begin to explain the sheer boredom I faced whilst spending 3 hours each day commuting to university. I felt like pulling my hair out whenever I heard the train was delayed meaning I had to spend longer without any form of multimedia entertainment."

Jesus... wept :facepalm2: Get a book or magazine instead.

"They found it on the busy road, the phone must have slipped out of my jacket pocket as I ran across. And bloody hell, that road is pretty busy so the amount of buses and cars it must have faced…."

Before you slap another £500+ on the counter at the Carphone warehouse for a piece of overrated plastic, what should you pick up from the shops first?
I assume you passed your GCSEs, A levels and all that other bilge with flying colours, so it shouldn't be too difficult to figure out.

Thanks for your patronising post, I planned on using the phone for two years and during the three months I had it, it was very useful. And it was one of the best phones in the market at the time which I wanted. I like having a phone that has a beautiful interface, very good camera and feels nice.

I do read books but sometimes I would apprectae the ability to surf the net, listen to music, I can read papers/mags online etc.

And about the insurance, yeah I should have got it but sometimes you just don't think you need it. And I got it from Apple not carphone warehouse.

How dead/crushed/broken is it? When I dropped and smashed my iPad, I ripped the thing apart and repaired it, only cost me £35 for the parts.

That's one way of looking at it. I was thinking about getting a jacket with zip pockets instead.
Or you could just use your loaf and keep a firm hold of your iPhone before you start running. And then you'd only temporarily feel like a tit

No this wasn't a plug, I can't be bothered to look through my own posts but I genuinly did mention ages ago in a thread that I would post proof. So I finally got round to taking a picture. And incase people wanted to know how it happened, I posted link to my blog.

    Like insanely broken
The camera lens had fallen out, the button had disappeared. I think the picture pretty much explains the extent of the damage. BUT amazingly, my cousin unbent the bit you connect your charger to and now the iphone connects to itunes

If that's true then the internals are good, you might be able to get a replacement screen/button assembly...On the ipad, it's all one unit and connects to the mainboard with two or three cables

    ^ Worth a shot I say.

Magazines and books get boring very quickly when you spend that long on trains. I can understand where the OP is coming from.

I was too cautious with mine - I got insurance when I got it and didn't want to change to another company while I was living in Birmingham, as the new company wouldn't pay out for anything in the first two weeks of the policy. By the time I was home long enough to switch (being at less of a risk for those two weeks in my home town), companies wouldn't touch my phone because it was "too old." So I'm now stuck paying overpriced insurance because I don't want to end up with no iPhone and a contract to pay off.

Smart phones are essential for public transport on regular basis. 500 quid for 2 years entertainment is good value in my books. Op, I'd take it to a shop to see if it can be fixed and at what cost. Might not be worth it in the end but you may as well try.

Did you try turning it off and turning it back on again?

Of course, I'd forgotten how everyone just died of boredom before smartphones were invented >< Seriously. What's wrong with a plain old book/magazine/music?

Hmm i wouldn't say they're essential were just over reliant on them. I mean, Siri.. its f***ing useless but we make a need for it because we cba to remember a meeting or look up something ourself. My problem is that 'smart'phones are make humans dumb. They weren't essential before they were invented, and shouldn't be afterwards either. Even i'll admit, the time when i've lost my phone and not had it for a few days i've felt lost myself! But im not as bad as others.. Some peoples lives revolve around phones
