Eating Fruit
I usually get called weird for this, but i eat the whole of an apple, core and everything, I've never met anyone else that does this but I'm sure I cannot be the only person that does.
Its how I've always eaten them, the cores taste a bit like caramel ... i think so anyway
So anyone else have or know people who have weird fruit eating habits? It doesn't HAVE to be fruit, but usually fruit and veg and such does produce some weird habits.
I also know a guy who cuts lemons in quarters and eats them like i would eat and orange, which seemed strange to me.
And someone that eats mushrooms (store bought) raw ...as in straight from the pallet.
Also if anyone else eats apples the same way as me please come forward so I know i am not alone.

What's wrong with eating raw mushrooms? and I have a few friends who eat all the apple (and the same with pears, for that matter), so you're not alone

I dunno, I tried it once on the friends insistence, i found it tasted ... not earthy ..but well it is defiantly a unique taste and the texture in my mouth felt strange, in all it was not something I could get into
See i knew it, years of getting told stupid things like, dude your body can't digest the core it will make you sick ...despite the fact i had been doing it for years and never been sick lol.(Original post by _becca)

Im sure apple seeds contain cyanide, just thought you ought to know...
...hmm 1 of 3 things has happened then,
1- I have never consumed a large enough amount to get sick ... this is most likely but not my favorite.
2- I have slowly developed an immunity to Cyanide, which would just be awesome ... I'm sure i can put that to use somehow.
3- This is by far the best option and what i hope, I am actually a highlander universe immortal, having recently died from cyanide poisoning i shall no longer age, but live forever, occasionally having to duel for my life or hide on holy ground.Last edited by cid; 02-08-2012 at 22:19. -
Re: Eating Fruit
My dad eats apples whole, but i personally prefer not to... although I am one of those odd people who will eat lemons in quarters every now and again
I also like separating carrots - the inner core of the carrot is all spikey and tastes sweeter so i break off the outside and eat it first, saving the best til last!

Nope, you're not alone
I eat whole apples and pears, seeds and cores and stuff. It's yummy and doesn't do any harm. For me, it started off as not finding a bin for my apple core so I just ate it instead
You'd probably feel ill from eating too many apples first before you feel ill from the cyanide. There are negligible amounts in the seeds.(Original post by sii217)

Re: Eating FruitYou'd need to eat through 20 apple cores in one quick sitting to reach the lethal dose!(Original post by sii217)
