My sixth form center have set me this Business Studies Induction Task
This is the Business Studies Induction Task :

In order to be successful in business, you need to possess a wide range of suitable skills. Enterprise skills include the following:

    Self-confidence and motivation
    Risk taking
Ability to identify and take advantage of marketing opportunities
    Ability to innovate
Ability to build teams and to inspire
Many of our most successful business entrepreneurs started in business at the bottom and subsequently built large and successful organisations. Some of these people are very well known in the media. Your task is to investigate one of these entrepreneurs and be prepared to give a short talk on your findings. This should be no more than 5 minutes in duration. You can use multimedia display techniques such as PowerPoint, but that is not compulsory. I am particularly interested in entrepreneurs who had long-term vision, and produced products ahead of their time. Examples include Fred Laker (Skytrain), Sir Clive Sinclair (Spectrum computer, C5 vehicle). However, the choice is yours and Alan Sugar, Richard Branson, Stelios etc are quite acceptable.

Hopefully, you can access the Internet to help you complete this task. However, I am certain your local library will have plenty of material. Your talk should focus on the origins of the business, how it developed, successes/failures, the qualities demonstrated by the entrepreneur in developing the business etc

Can you guys think of any good successful business entrepreneurs to do ?#

Thanks for the help in advance

Lord Alan is not acceptable, I detest his idiocy. Innocent are always good for this sort of task, lot of CSR to talk about, good business plan. started well, took a huge risk etc...

I think a few of those qualities listed above fit quite nicely into the personality of Steve Jobs. He dropped out of Uni 'yet' introduced many innovations to computing, movies etc. and that's before the proliferation of media players, smart-phones and tablets.

I did a similar thing (wrote an essay instead of a presentation) for Steve Jobs last year, and the amount of content available online is pretty substantial so you shouldn't have any problems with research if you do decide to do so.

    Hope that helps!
