    Need advice on car insurance
Right so I have bought a car and need insurance. Is it ok if I register myself as the main driver on an insurance policy if it will be the additional driver who is my parent driving the car more than me. Or is this also fronting. Because Im a young driver and I thought that fronting occurred when the parent was the main driver on the policy but I was driving it and not them

Why would you be the main driver when your parents would drive the car more? Wouldn't it be cheaper having your parent as the main driver and you as a named driver?

It could be seen as fronting, but if your parent is going to drive the car more then you say 60/40 put it under there name and then you will save money , however your best bet is to ask the insurer.

Thanks for the responses, The reason why I want to be the main driver because I want to work on getting a driving history so that I can get a better premium in the future plus a no claims bonus. Also the car is in my name so I have to be the main driver on the insurance policy.

I will be using the coop young driver insurance with the black box, but like I said I wont really be driving it as much as my Mum because I am only on a provisional license. I have been quoted £900 for the insurance with my Mum driving more miles a year than me.
