Is there a gap between death and judgment day?

Re: Is there a gap between death and judgment day?Most Christians believe that you will immediately enter either heaven or hell (some partial form of what will be after judgement) depending on whether you have repented and believed in Jesus Christ, until judgement. Then all the people in hell will be judged according to their lives then sent to hell. When a christian dies is there a blib between when the person dies and when judgement day arrives? or am i wrong altogether?
There are many variations but all follow a similar interpretation. -

Re: Is there a gap between death and judgment day?There are different schools of thought on this issue, and no concrete answer. Protestant theologians like Calvin and Luther believed that the soul would enter an "Intermediate state" after death, and stay that way until resurrection and Judgement. This theory is called "soul sleep", or Christian mortalism, and Jehovah's Witnesses and Seventh Day Adventists also accept it. However, today I think the majority of Christians believe that the soul is judged immediately; there is no interim period.
