Re: British Train Companies
To be honest, most train companies are geographically constrained so depending on where you're travelling will depend on what company you go with.
Check out nationalrail.co.uk or thetrainline.com for routes and ticket buying. You can also buy through the individual companies when you find out which one you'll be using. -
Re: British Train Companies
Cant put it better than the above poster to be honest shes completely right in that different companies operate different lines for instance FGW from Paddington to penzance and inbetween with a couple of other stops, south eastern coming out of waterloo, stratfrod and going up to reading and whereever, you can buy through these companies i believe but its a lot easier just going through nationalrail.co.uk as they cover all of the British isles train network so a ticket from there will allow you to travel on multiple train lines if needs be

Re: British Train Companies
All train companies sell ticket for all routes but sometimes they do discounts if you use their trains services. East Coast for example give a 10% (i think) on tickets using their routes.
National Rail is an overview and will generally send you to the one it deems the best for that journey.
I travel a lot as I live 200 miles away from uni and 300 miles from my boyfriend. I've started using RedSpottedHanky as they give loyalty points to redeem against train travel and don't charge a booking fee or delivery fee. -
Re: British Train CompaniesTrains from Waterloo are run by South West Trains and not Southeastern.(Original post by cl_steele)

Re: British Train CompaniesAlright fine i'll take your point of view seeing as it's similar to the former King's Cross Thameslink station.(Original post by PinguN18)
