    Application through ucas references ect...
Hi i'm looking to apply for a foundation year in 2013 i'm currently 18, will be 19 at the time i apply, and have lost contact with school/college and my only employer is my own dad. I havnt had a proper look but i would imagian that this would be a problem when getting a reference ect.

    Anybody got any advice?

Also, i'm self studying an A level, would i be able to predict myself a grade going by what i'm currently working at or do i need an official prediction? Could i just say this is what i'm hoping for, but its coming from my own experience?

Speak to the university you plan to apply to and see what they say about your reference. I would expect that given you're only young that they would want a reference from your old school, given it can't have been more than a few years ago that you were there. Your dad will not be an appropriate reference for a job or for a university application because he is related to you.

Also as the university what they would like you to do about predicted grades - if you're working with a tutor or remotely through a school (given you will have to sit the exams somewhere) then you can get them to give you a predicted grade and also provide the reference.
