Hand luggage requirements help!
Ok so my airline allows one item of hand baggage per person in addition to one small personal item, e.g., a small laptop or small handbag. The maximum dimensions for hand baggage is 55x40x23cm with a maximum weight of 10kg.
Does this mean all luggage combined must be equal to or less than 10kg?
Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but I'm a new flyer.

No, I think they're just talking about the bigger hand baggage. They won't ask to weigh handbags or whatever. As long as it's small they won't care about your personal item.(Original post by Discouraged One)

Re: Hand luggage requirements help!
They are not gonna weigh it so no one cares. As long as you don't carry a massive beast you'll be fine.
But if you are still worried they mean the luggage only as the second item is called a personal item. They only specify the dimension of the luggage cause they need to make sure it will fit on the luggage rack in the plane. -

Thanks to both of you for your help! I thought this was the case and I'm glad it is as I was planning on taking my laptop with me as my personal item. Considering it weighs 2.06 kg on its own, it would prevent me from packing more of the essentials into my case.(Original post by *Corinna*)

I have had my hand luggage weighed before although 10kgs is quite a lot so I wouldn't worry about it! Whatever you do, don't pack your laptop in your checked luggage. Plenty of people take a carry on bag and then a laptop as their personal item so you'll be fine

Re: Hand luggage requirements help!I'm not taking any checked luggage for this trip, only my hand luggage so all my clothes and whatnot have to fit into this one case I'm taking with me. If I had checked I wouldn't be worrying so much but unfortunately I don't. Thank you for the confirmation regardless.(Original post by abbyheat)

Re: Hand luggage requirements help!I wouldn't worry about the 10kg limit. You won't reach it. I went away for a week with only hand luggage, a weeks worth of clothes and stuff in a bag the exact hand luggage dimensions was only 6kgs and the bag was completely stuffed full.(Original post by Discouraged One)
