Hello everyone,

I've been distributing my surveys online through www.freeonlinesurveys.com and it’s been fine up until now that I need my data onto SPSS. I have the student account and it says that I can export a CSV file that should work on SPSS.

Thing is, every time I download the file (text or numerical) it downloads in XLS. When I try opening it with Excel it says the 'File is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted'. It lets me open it in Excel if I click yes anyway but the point is I can't seem to get the data onto SPSS (v19). I've tried importing the XLS file through SPSS but it still comes up with an error.

If anybody has any experience with this website or has any solution to my problem I'd really appreciate it; their website 'support' hasn't responded in the last week..
