Riots in Arakan, Burma. As a Burmese, I need your opinions, guys!
I'm sure all of you might heard about what was going on in Burma. There had been conflicts between Rakhines (One ethnic of Myanmar) and Rohingyas who are muslims. Well, there is one problem in this case. Media!!! Burmese medias are broadcasting news biased. So, people in the country are hating every Muslims in the country despite of their races. And international media, well I can say that their news are more reliable than Burmese ones. Although, they slightly take from the Rohingyas' side. I mean, both sides had suffered harsh. Now, those Rohingya people are having troubles. They are being hatred by nearby people and they cannot go to certain places. Because of that, every Muslims in this country are being hated by Buddhists and there is no peace anymore. So what are your opinions about this situation and what can be done to improve this situation? And remember, all of those people are uneducated. They wouldn't be able to appreciate peace and differences between people.

Hopefully, Aung San Suu Kyi will get more chance after 2015 elections. Current president is like a puppet. He's just doing whatever the majority of people shout. In some cases, he should have thought as a president. I have no idea why Times Magazine chose him at 100 something list :/

Re: Riots in Arakan, Burma. As a Burmese, I need your opinions, guys!If you really are burmese and not just some fake muslim from the UK working up the sob-story to get it circulating in our media and minds more (I've heard of this plan from a few forums), your English is fantastic, and sorry for questioning your integrity and honesty(Original post by pyaesone)

The bit I've enboldened (the part in black), is ironically, is one of the most pure and "bottom-up" forms of democracy, the people influence the decision, and decide what the state, or president does, not people from the state suposedly representing the people (what most european democracies have) and often working above the people, sometimes against their interests. If your president was not listening to the people and doing what he wants then this is what you would describe

And I speak good English. I know, that is rare. That is because I have attended international school and now I am planning to go to UK for further studies. And to make this clearer by "sarcasm" :
Yes, I created a profile last year in a Burmese name and location knowing that there will be riots happening next year. I need to be prepared so I have to create a fake account in TSR and make a sob-story for the Muslims.
Yeah highly possible about that
About that democracy part, I agree. It is also good that he is doing this way. But our role in international level just went lower after he talked to United Nations and after he canceled out the dam project "by his mouth". However, you should note that people didn't elect him. Majority of Burmese people support Aung San Suu Kyi. He was from the junta government. The party of his is filled with ex-military men who just quit army because of the elections and that they won't get power anymore.
And about the stories, I am indeed not making a sob-story. I also posted that "both sides had suffered harsh". I am just referring to the consequences of that riot. The country is a Buddhist country. We just have to suffer the consequences. I am not even a Rohingya, I am a Burmese and I get treated like an outsider. Have you even read what Burmese medias are writing these days? People are now actually believing the fact that Muslims are trying to take over the country. That is utterly preposterous and this kind of thing cannot happen in this century. Sadly, they are not educated enough to learn about that.Last edited by pyaesone; 07-08-2012 at 18:13. -
