Re: Apple discount questionAre you in college?(Original post by bambamty)
you get 14% discount on all macs! with my macbook which i bought about a month ago, it came with an extended 3 year hard ware warranty, so to upgrade it to full apple car (software, hardware, phone support) it was about £45
so if your in college and you want a macbook with apple care, how much is it with the discount? -
Re: Apple discount questionI heard it's not and you don't get the free gift voucher worth £70(Original post by bambamty)
I'm in uni, but i'm fairly sure (don't quote me on it though) that the discount is the same as uni student discount. it came to £910 for a mbp with apple care
-
Re: Apple discount questionWell obviously you're not eligible for a student discount until you're a student??(Original post by boateng)

Re: Apple discount questionhmm as far as i knew the discount was only for uni students... But maybe college too? There is a drop down menu on the apple site so just see if your college is there(Original post by boateng)

you can ring up and say you're at uni, they never asked for any proof.
or buy direct off here http://store.apple.com/uk_edu_5000832 -

Re: Apple discount question
Do you have any friends/relatives at uni? When I was at college I got my brother to buy me a mac on his uni campus then paid him the money back...just a thought. I never bothered with apple care or anything as it confused me too. I guess theres the usual warranties but i've had my macbook for a few years and its still going strong

Re: Apple discount questionso if it breaksdown i take it to the apple shop and they fix it?(Original post by PVisitors)

do they ask to see your uni id when you take it back? -
Re: Apple discount questionthey don't ask for ID when you go in, as long as it's within warranty.(Original post by boateng)

and the whole university automatic warranty thing, combined with EU consumer law which gives people an automatic warranty means you don't really need applecare. but i've heard people having problems with it. As a student applecare is only an extra £45 or something, a tiny amount compared to the amount of the laptop so its arguably worth getting anyway
