Trusteer Rapport showing over 1000 blocked process alterations- still rising, wtf?So my bank gave me this security software (Trusteer Rapport) which is supposed to run next to normal anti-virus (I have McAfee) and it's been working fine and normally for over a year now, but each week you get a report thing about what the program's been doing and when I opened mine just now it showed over 1,000 blocked attempts to alter browser functions- the report is still open and the number of blocked attempts is still rising- just gone past 1,200 so that's 200 attempts in the last 5 minutes. Wtf is going on? McAfee hasn't made a peep, and Rapport says I don't need to do anything but I don't think this is normal...Help please?

Re: Trusteer Rapport showing over 1000 blocked process alterations- still rising, wtfIf you click the question mark by it, it should show you a bit more detail about what exactly has tried to access what. If you're concerned, try running a scan with your antivirus and malwarebytes to see if either of them report anything. If not, it's nothing to worry about, rapport is protecting your browser by blocking them.(Original post by Bobo1234)

Re: Trusteer Rapport showing over 1000 blocked process alterations- still rising, wtfIt's a whole load of different processes (under the "?" button). WriteFile, StretchDIBits, ReadFile, GetQueuedCompletionStatus. I think there are about 15 processes all together, repeated over and over adding up to over 2,000 times in total now (I think the rate is slowing down a bit). And yep, running a scan already, but nothing. I'm not overly worried as (I would hope, seeing as I pay for it lol) McAfee would tell me if something serious was going on, 'twas just a bit of a shock that's all.(Original post by NewFolder)

How strange.

Re: Trusteer Rapport showing over 1000 blocked process alterations- still rising, wtfTSR shows fairly high in google results, if their support team have been searching for places where the bug has been reported makes sense.(Original post by Darkphilosopher)

Seems legit enough, the website linked to is also linked to from Natwest so it is either someone who is who they say they are, or someone who is playing but still being helpful.(Original post by . . .)
That customer service account seems a little dodgy.Last edited by rmhumphries; 08-08-2012 at 01:23. -
Re: Trusteer Rapport showing over 1000 blocked process alterations- still rising, wtfI'm sure TSR would make it known if this was an official customer service helper. They usually say official customer service helper or something along those lines under the username in bold black text if TSR approves of it. It's better to be safe than sorry.(Original post by rmhumphries)

Seems legit enough, the website linked to is also linked to from Natwest so it is either someone who is who they say they are, or someone who is playing a long game - but this post is perfectly fine. -
Re: Trusteer Rapport showing over 1000 blocked process alterations- still rising, wtfIt isn't an automatic process, I would imagine that anyone wanting to be an official customer service helper needs to contact the admins (who are mostly at work during normal office hours), then who they are needs to be verified, and so-on -> not a process that a tech support person is going to go through for one post, to inform a user about a bug which should be fixed by tomorrow. I see no way that this isn't safe other than something along the lines of Natwest's website being taken over - in which case we most likely have bigger problems.(Original post by . . .)
