    How do YOU stay organised/tidy?
Hey everyone. I'm in the process of decluttering/tidying up at the moment, trying to sort out my tiny box room. It's going OK so far.

I was wondering, what methods/tricks etc do you use to stay organised, and/or tidy? Do you have a system? (In-trays and such?) Any handy hints and tips you'd like to share?

One idea I've found recently, is, when you wash/sort your bedding (pillow cases, sheets, duvet covers) out, is to put it all in the pillow case when you fold it up to put away. That way, next time you go to change your bedding, you'll have a neat little package with it all in there, rather than searching your cupboards.

I also found organising the clothes in my wardrobe useful. I personally like colour-coding it, but you could categorise it differently (eg work clothes, casual clothes, party dresses etc), or whatever works for you. It's nice knowing what's in your wardrobe, and where the item is!

    Your turn

I have a table top in the living room where I chuck all of my **** once I come home from school. That way, I know the crap is there when leaving for school and looking for my wallet etc.

I think I have OCD so that keeps me pretty tidy and organised. I stay organised at work by writing everything down. I have lists in my drawer of upcoming deadlines and lists of clients to chase up to remind myself. Write stuff down and then you have the satisfaction of crossing stuff off when it gets done.

I don't! My room is tidy but my wardrobe is a mess! When I hang up my clothes, I just shove them in and my bags are shoes are lying in heap on the floor of my wardrobe. I used to just dump my school stuff at the side of my couch so I knew where everything was when I re-packed my bag in the morning. Most of my stuff isn't what you call organised or tidy, but I know where everthing is! :p:

I will need to be far more organised for uni!!

i'm organised but not at all tidy. luckily i don't spend much time in my room at home so it's treated as a giant messy cupboard, at uni it's big enough to handle the mess.

I didn't even read the OP sorry, but i saw the title and instantly had to say: My OCD.

EDIT: If you must know more - All of my clothes are in order - Shirts, T'Shirts, Jeans, Jackets, Hoodies, etc. I have drawers for specific clothing items and if they are not placed in the correct drawer i will flip.

My Games are arranged by alphabetical order. My DvD's are aranged by alphabetical order (But, heres the tricky part; If there is more than one, i.e; Big Bang Theory Season 1, 2, 3, 4 and soon to be 5 they all must go in the order of the series. Even the same with Movies, if Movie 1 starts with the letter B and its sequel starts with the letter A - Movie 1 must go first!!)

Everything on my desk is organized and the desk drawer is organized.

I have a old shoebox under my bed with all of my Train, Cinema, Festival, Gig, Football, etc tickets.

Generally I make sure I leave no dishes lying around and I fold my clothes away. It seems to work if you want a tidy room

Have a tin/box or somewhere where you keep all your important stuff on a daily basis.

I have a little table by my bed where I keep my phone, earphones, wallet etc/other important stuff.

It's really useful, before I'd be spending ages looking and ransacking the house to find it.

I write lists about everything! I write down all my goals for the week, assign them a day to complete them in, then I draw a little tick box so I tick it off when I've completed that goal. It's very satisfying.
