    Fixed Grade boundaries for GCSE?
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ous-years.html

Don't entirely understand the article, they are basically trying to cap how many people pass every year, If you didn't do well in your year 6 SATs does this mean it will be difficult or easier to do well in your GCSE's?

If you did well in the last set of exams you did, it'll be easier to do well in these exams.
If you didn't do well, they're screwing you over :/

This seems totally unfair, if they base it on a set of exams where you had a bad day, or were ill, or had extenuating circumstances, then you fail all of your future exams... How is that ok??

They are saying that the difficulty of GCSEs as a whole will be adjusted according to how everyone did in SATs, not your GCSEs adjusted according to how well you did in SATs.

In which case, if you're an overachiever in an unfortunately bad year, or an underachiever in a really clever year, how is that fair?

The grade boundaries won't be fixed, just the pass rate for an A etc. People last year (myself included) didn't have it tough with respect to pass rates so you won't this year, it will be equally as easy for you to do well.
