What action do you define as cheating?
Im just interested to see what people define as 'cheating' for me kissing another person whether your drunk or not is cheating and it would make me seriously consider dumping somebody if they did it. However I have friends who wouldnt even bat an eyelid if their partner kissed somebody and only count actual sex as cheating and then on the flipside I have friends who think even talking and flirting is seen as cheating.
I would be very upset if a partner flirted with another women but I think I could forgive them anything beyond and including kissing I could not.
So what do you define as cheating and what would you forgive and what wouldnt you forgive? -

2,3,4,5,6 and 7. Assuming your with somebody else while doing those things.
There's nothing wrong with talking to or texting someone. But if they went beyond that and got together with someone whilst already in a relationship, then I'd definitely class it as cheating.
I don't see being drunk as an excuse for cheating. I doubt anyone would get so drunk they'd somehow "forgotten" they were in a relationship. -
Re: What action do you define as cheating?
actual cheating, anything from kissing onwards
however I'd still feel betrayed and probably dump a guy if there was any sort of emotional 'cheating' like I've seen posts about cuddling another girl, or talking to someone inappropriately even if nothing was acted on (e.g. flirting, telling someone you love them/they're hot, talking sexually) -
Re: What action do you define as cheating?
My boyfriend is a fairly well-accomplished flirt and gets along well with women generally. Doesn't bother me at all, I think its kinda funny. I know he wouldn't go any further than some double entendre and dirty jokes, and maybe some subtle boob staring.
Kissing would be where I would draw the line, I think. That's the point of no return

how the hell can u drunkenly flirt o.O -
Re: What action do you define as cheating?
I think kissing or worse is cheating
but one and two, while not cheating are inapproprate and if my gf did that, I would have a word with her.
I just use the method "I will not do anything that I wouldnt happily do infront of my girlfriends face"
note: being drunk is an excuse for nothing as afar as im conserned -

Re: What action do you define as cheating?
Most people in real life and on this thread view any act involving kissing and beyond as officially cheating. I agree and its no surprise really.
No offence to OP but that's what makes this poll utterly retarded. The fact you can only pick one answer instead of being allowed to pick multiple answers. So basically its saying you can only view one of these answers as cheating and nothing more which isn't how it works.(Original post by ct2k7)
Amelia/SillyMilly, did you intend for this to be a multiple choice poll?
For example if I were to pick a one night stand as cheating, would that mean I couldn't view sexual contact or even a full blown sexual relationship behind your back as cheating? -

Re: What action do you define as cheating?Yes, same. Having actually cheated on an ex myself, I think when it becomes physical is way too late. The cheating starts before that, with the talking and with the fantasising and with the planning. If my boyfriend were emotionally opening up to a girl, talking to her for hours and hours, or flirting with someone (as he's not a natural flirt), or even making sexual comments about her - that's going over the line. I understand some people (like my boyfriend) only class physical contact such as kissing as cheating, but I think there's more to it than that.(Original post by Anonymous)

Re: What action do you define as cheating?
Anything that breaks the bonds of the vocal contract first initiated by both parties, is cheating.
Everyone interprets things differently, it's how they define reality right? That's why at the beginning of a relationship I would make sure all these things are ironed out first; so she knows my expectations and I know hers.Last edited by Spontogical; 09-08-2012 at 10:59.
