If there's 1 million members on TSR...
1) How come on every thread I go on I seem to recognise about a third to a half of the people on there?
2) TSR is a UK website right, so the vast majority of the members live in the UK. Of 60 million in the UK apparently 8 million are between 14 and 26 (the age of most TSR people)? So does 1 in 8 14 to 26 year olds have an account?
PS I'm not disputing that there is 1 million members
, I'm just wondering because both those things seem a bit weird.

Re: If there's 1 million members on TSR...We have a few more than 10 active(Original post by GrazzleDazzle)
It's stupid to celebrate. They should celebrate so many tens of thousands 'Active users'. It's like Facebook saying 'We haz over 900million members yeah'. Yeah but only 10 of em are active -.-

It's the nature of being a student - people 10, 5, 2, 1 year ago may have been students but no longer are. Many do decide to stick around on TSR (which is great!) but others decide to move on. We're not an all inclusive social media site and we're not trying to be. We're here to support students in what they do, whether they make 1/10/10,000 posts. Of course we'd love people to stick around for longer and we're always striving for that, but we are a student focused site, afterall

Re: If there's 1 million members on TSR...Funnily enough, I joined this site well, well after finishing my higher education. I never really did further education either, yet I seem be unable to leave. I like this place. It's quite a generic forum (in that, by having students as a predominant user base you end up with a myriad conversations ranging every subject imaginable) and that's exactly what I was looking for. That it was aimed at students meant I'd find a good mix of people with varying opinions.(Original post by CJ)

WQM makes it much easier to hold decent converstions (or raging debate!) than other forums I used in the past, the mods do a decent job and generally there are some well thought out posts here.
To surmise, you've done a grand job here, keep up the good work!

I know everyone on the TSR team (admin and mods) cares about this site a great deal so I'll pass this onto everyone.
If people want an additional stat to celebrate, the site is used by over 4.5 million people every single month (it was 5.6 million in May!) They are a mix of members and people who just read the site. Different to Facebook, people can still use the site without registering.
