AS unit 1 OCR chemistry

Does H2S have dipole-dipole forces and if so how can you tell if a compound has dipole-dipole forces? many thanks in advance:smile:

Yeah, though not particularly big as they're quite similar in electronegativity. You need to look if there's a difference in electroneg and its shape as to whether or not symmetry would cancel out, think of it as a tug of war.

Yeah, permanent dipoles arise from differences in electronegativity, though as I said, they'll be quite small.
