Well, does he look 44? If not not problem, if yes find a younger picture of him.

You can't hide him forever, and unless you see this relationship as incredibly short-term, they're going to find out anyway.

If you're so ashamed / embarassed by his age, is this really the right thing to be doing?

I'm 19 and my boyfriend of late is 44. My friends haven't met him and I've told them he's only 30... for obvious reasons. I only have one friend who I truly trust and she's the only one who knows his real age.

Thing is, they keep nagging me to show them his picture, and I keep dodging the subject because... well, need I explain? They're quite suspicious now because it's been ages and I've revealed zilch. So I've decided just to find a picture of a random guy off the internet and show them that. Does anyone know where I can find a picture of a male aged around 30?

There is a quarter of a century age gap between you!!

I was 18 when I met my hubby who was 37. I nearly lied but realised it would come out in the end so just told the truth. I lost friends and my relationship with my parents suffered but 7 years later we are happy and married. It was worth it in the end

that's one hell of an age gap.

what are you going to do when they eventually want to meet him? are you planning on hiding him forever?

why are you doing pornography in your profile photograph?
Just tell them the truth. Sooner or later the truth will come out anyway, and when that happens it will be more awkward the more lies you have told them. They might surprise you and not be as judgmental as you think they are, and even if they are, well, then that's their problem really, not yours.
Seriously, what do you talk about in such a relationship? Even I feel old and out of touch when I talk to 19-year-olds, for heaven's sake.
just show them a picture of him and say he looks pretty old for his age, or ask him for a picture of him when he was 30...but be prepared to explain why you dont want to tell people the truth, he might be a little hurt.

Sex only accounts for a fraction of our time spent together. Most of the time we're just hanging out and chatting a lot.

I can totally understand how wrong this must sound, but really, you can't define a person by their age. He's a person I get on really well with who just happens to be 44!

dont feel the need to try and justify it, its none of their business, it's your relationship and they have no part in that, it's not an issue raised in the OP and so there's no need to discuss it. Just ignore the posts about the age gap or tell them to bugger off and focus on their own lives, you should be comfortable enough in your relationship to not have to defend it to anyone

Personally i think you should tell your friends his real age and if they fall out with you then all you've done it gotten rid of the **** friends, as long as he isnt mistreating or manipulating you (both of which happen in any relationship not just age gaps!) then there's nothing wrong.

This! But then again i guess love has no age limit

You would say that, Jirayia. :colone:
Whose judgement are you really afraid of - other people's or your own? How can you expect people not to judge you when you've so clearly been judging yourself?

Just be honest, you have done nothing wrong. And it will make you a much happier person.

If my friend was seeing a 44 year old I wouldn't like it, but its not about me....if you're happy then do whatever you like..tell them, if you like him that much you can maybe make new friends

Most likely you're being manipulated and used for sex.

You know she's 19 not 14, not some naive child.

It's unusual but then there was a series with couples who had massive age gaps and there were very happy together.

OP honestly I'd come clean and admit you lied, though I imagine most of them will react quite negatively towards him, but that's their problem.

lol what does a 19 yr old and a 44 yr old have in common?

Haha! This is most likely a troll thread.

Stop being so narrow minded for heavans sake!
There is a 19 year age gap between my bf and I, and we are like two peas in a pod and have been together 4 years and counting.
We have a lot in common, share same interests and hobbies and on top of that, not one person - be it a stranger, friend or our family members - has dissaproved of our relationship. They can see that we are very happy together and in love. It probably also helps that both our families are into the same hobbies and interests as ourselves.

OP, you should not worry, nor care about the age gap between you and your partner. Age is just a number, and you dont need approval from anyone else if you are in love with him.

Be happy!
