Kalim Smith - I'm assuming that's your full name, if you ever get into dental school at least people will be aware of who you are and can hopefully stay clear.

it wasn't a mother joke, infact you're friend was saying does he need to answer to me because afterall i am not his mother << he said that. so pls get your facts right.
and no need to get on the offensive.
this is a dentistry forum about the application process, no need to get all hot headed just because i commented on one of your posts. so pls, drop it.

Well you've got yourself to blame for provoking such responses. Maybe if you stop saying stupid things, you won't get stupid replies.

So RoaringLion, you were part of both the A2B scheme and Access to Leeds programme? You should have been at a much greater advantage to the rest of us ... :frown:
Allow this man, there's a line between having a laugh and taking the pis*. If it's one thing I have learnt is that you can take the piss all you like but karma will get you back in the future. Laugh at those below you on your way up, you won't get far. I hope one of your future dental patients knocks the fu** out of you after having an anesthetic

Oooh-er must test the patient's capacity to ensure they are fit for giving informed consent in order to receive local anaesthetic - I've normally seen the dentist use Lidocaine.

Speaking of Lidocaine, watch this:

Surely I was at no advantage if leeds rejected me within a blink and Birmingham interviewed me during the dying stages of their interview cycle.

Your only at an advantage if you gain an offer and if you do, then you've done well... But no mate, no advantage over here... Birmingham told me that I can't even apply next year as post interview rejects get automatic rejections if they apply again

Stop acting clever mate. You can act all tough and patronising on here with your pathetic name but in reality I bet you wouldn't do **** in person. Stop being a keyboard warrior

is there a facebook group for offer holders for birmingham?
Hi guys Barts vs Manchester.

Which do you think is better and WHY (in teaching method, place, type of students, city, etc.), what are their advantages/disadvantages.

any opinion/information will be appreciated.

(i got offers from both and can't choose)

Barts without a doubt.
Wow you guys are sooo sad  just get over it, you got rejected by Birmingham, so what?
Its not the end of the world. You have to realize that people who performed BETTER THAN YOU during the interview got the offers, you were basically not good enough. Simples

Learn from your mistakes, get the grades, improve your interview technique and next year you'll get an offer ...

personally, i would say barts! i'm from manchester, its a really great city, but in terms of the dental school/course itself it not that good and its really slipping in its rankings. i also have friends who go there, who say the social life is great but the course compared to other dental schools could be better because when you compare nationally, manch doesnt really prepare you for dentistry in the future...(if that makes sense)

Barts on the other hand, I really really liked it at the tour, it was really really nice and it had some AMAZING facilities! also when i went for my iv, the construction for the new dental hospital/school extension was underway and that would be really exciting!! It also offers the opportunity to further specialise into maxfax if that interests you, and i think its one of the only uni's that offers this (may need to check up on this!) It really is a serious contender against other top dental schools like kings/glasgow! in terms of the city itself its really close to the central london which is great and the fact that the dental school is in whitechapel makes its really muticultural and diverse area as you will have noticed at the iv.

In terms of the people, barts were way more hospitable and everyone was really friendly, whereas manch cant really say much as there was noone there except the secretary!

hope that helps!

Don't be silly, how would they know your status anyway. I understand you got rejected and it was probably one of your top choices, but you have two other offers and it's not a competition or game, all you need is one offer so be happy please.

mateeee! I'm HAPPY i got rejected!!! LOOOOOL! If I had got an offer, i would have missed out on a FANTASTIC opportunity at Leeds!
