As for finance vs cash, depends on the circumstance which is better for the person , hence It's a non issue

Just check randomly, it'll give you a few surprises..........and use confused.com or something to get an idea and do check quotes at different times of the day and month as it can change quite a bit

I wanted a new car and for that price most other cars lose nearly half their value after a year or two whereas this won't depreciate much and it's pretty cheap on insurance

That will depreciate..........I reckon by year 2 it'll have lost 40%.
For cars to not depreciate, they need to be rare, special editions etc.

In the same boat as you, Try directline driveplus, its a black box that just monitors your driving and they can't charge you extra or penalise you for speeding as it's just there for data and next years premium, which you can change. Also premiums pretty cheap compared to other black box insurance. im getting 2k for a corsa 1.4 in bad area and i'm 17. try higher powered cars such as 1.2 and 1.4 they are cheaper for some reason. Best of luck
