IBM Matching Process - Likelihood of been offered a position?

Hi,

I have recently been to an assessment centre for a software engineering placement year position at IBM. I have been informed that I have passed and am through to matching. It says in the email that this doesn't mean i'm guaranteed a job. I was wondering if people could share their experiences of matching, and whether it pretty much does mean that you will get something eventually, and how long it takes.

Thanks

Hi Josh,

I also have been passed through the AC and through to matching. It was nearly 2 weeks ago and I still have not had any correspondence yet so do expect a long wait.

But from what I've read, if you're through to matching, you're essentially with a good chance. Unless you mess up the final interview.

From what I understand (I am also in the matching process at the moment), as you were in one of the early assessment days, you have a good chance of getting a job. They are on a first come, first served basis, meaning all the roles are still unfilled so you have a good chance.

Yes but if they don't like the look of your CV/related comments from the AC, they won't give an interview. But best of luck to you!

Hi Just Josh, when was your AC again? My AC was end of October and I've been offered a final interview for next Friday.

I would go ahead and accept other interview offers- can't hurt to have other options in the pipeline! I had an interview for PwC yesterday so.. yeah, go ahead.

Oh right. Are you applying for the industrial placement? Or a graduate post?

Yup, had it on Friday! It was a nice interview, more like a chat than an interview, no competencies or anything. Just wanted to know more about me I think! Hopefully I I did well enough to get an offer!
