Which subjects should I take:
1.) Maths, Chemistry, History, German
2.) Maths, Economics, Politics, Classics

Why not Maths, Economics, Politics, History?
Take the subjects you enjoy the most, you're more likely to get better grades! I think it would be useful but certainly not necessary to do economics and/or politics, both subjects are enjoyable. Geography's a great all-encompassing subject. You certainly can't go wrong with a language!
