University 2015 Essentials

Hey all :smile:

I'm starting uni next month and trying to find a suitable laptop that I can carry around and that's not too heavy. I was thinking the Microsoft surface pro 3 but I had mixed reviews on it . Any laptop suggestions?

I'm personally going to get the Dell XPS 13 as it's also got a lightweight build like the Surface Pro 3(SP3) but it has better storage and processing power. The XPS 13 is also famous for "fitting a 13" screen on an 11" laptop", so it's comparable in size to the SP3 and is smaller than other performance mobile laptops (eg. the Macbook). The XPS 13 also has a higher resolution than most of the ultrabook competitors (incl. the SP3).

You can choose to pay out for larger storage and processing power for the SP3 (bring you to about £1200 iirc) but the thing is, they're fitted with 4th gen Intel processors, meanwhile the XPS 13 currently ships with 5th gen, and within the next month is upgrading to 6th gen.
