You can get a clerical check that checks over the paper, it is cheaper than a remark.

Even if it wasn't a missed question, I still think it should be higher :tongue:

Remarks go either way! Down 7 UMS(!) after remarking PHYA2. Can't exactly remember how the UMS/Raw marks changed.

And I retook AS physics modules - I got a D last year and I was hoping to improve it to a B. Got a bit unlucky I guess

I got
90/100 in GOVP1
100/100 in GOVP2
90/100 in GOV3A
86/100 in GOV4A

I currently average 91.5 but am 4 UMS marks off an A* in Gov 4 - which is 3 raw marks !!! Not expecting it go up but would be unbelievably delighted to get the A*.

Everyone I need your help 1 last time, basically I got 139/200UMS which I was 1 mark off a B grade, I spoke to my politics teacher and she made a deal that if I leave it as that, she will predict me B grade in ucas, as she thinks I've only been working at a C grade.

What do you think I should do?

If you're only 1 UMS off why don't you get a remark?

In that case I'd ask your school for a refund as AQA will not charge them.


My college said that AQA don't refund them for it. It also stated that in my envelope with my results.

It varies a lot - the exam boards only say they'll do it within 30 days but Edexcel and (this year) OCR are much faster -under 2 days is not uncommon.

Wow thank you! How long after theyve remarked it do you find out if your grade has changed?

It came back in one day and the UMS is the exact same, should I appeal? I've been getting high Bs and low As all year round in the mocks, and the exam wasn't terrible so I'm pretty sure it should be higher than a C, but the UMS stayed exactly the same I'm so annoyed :/

Those are the times I gave - within 30 days but often much faster.

Ah I got it back today, so it took about 10 days
I still haven't got my remark from OCR yet
AS/A2: A2
Examboard - OCR Subject: English Literature
Original UMS MARK: 67/120
New UMS MARK: 86/120
Original Grade: D
New Grade: B

I sent off for a remark (non-priority) on Tuesday and got it back today (Friday) ! It went up 19 marks- I honestly can't believe it. I really thought I'd messed up the exam- been getting A's in mocks all year- but my teacher kept emailing suggesting I get a remark, and the college even paid for it! It took my overall grade from a C to a B so I now have ABB overall. I guess English marking isn't an exact science and it's quite subjective to the marker!
