DBS check

I completed the DBS form at the university where I'm going to do my PGCE a week ago. I tried to track my application online today and it still states the following.

'We are unable to process this request because the DBS has not received the corresponding DBS application form'

Does it usually take so long until an application goes in?

Mine took 4 months.
I only waited 3 days for mine to arrive in the post.

Thanks for your reply. Maybe the reason is that the recent holidays make mine a bit longer.
