How to ask someone out in person

How do you pluck up the courage, first of all? I'm terrified of rejection...

Then what do you say? Just "Would you like to go for a drink sometime?"

What if they say no? :\

but it will also feel good to get a weight off of your chest even if they say no

depends - if you don't know her very well, then yeah, "wanna go for a drink sometime" would be a pretty good line
if you know her a bit more than this, pretty much anything will do - I've used the literal line of "do you wanna go out with me" twice with girls I've known long term, as it gets the job done and saying "wanna go for a drink?" sounds a little ambiguous for that situation

and if they say no, then who cares? what more are they going to do? say "double no"? "no" is all they will say

You could try something relaxed the first time around: "Want to grab a coffee after school/work/whatever?"

It depends how ballsy you are.

If you're feeling brave just walk up to them when they're alone and ask them if they'll go out with you.

If not just ask them out on a casual coffee date or something whenever you know they're free

If they say no, they say no. It's not the end of the world, it just means that person isnt right for you and they figured it out sooner. If anything they did you a favour, you dont have to waste time and money on them going out.

Just try not to let the thought of them saying no bother you, i know it's hard but it's just about confidence and knowing that you are a good person and the right person will come along.
