Oooh where do i start!

-come prepared = stationary, snacks, laptop and whatever else you need
-don't be overwhelmed by the reading lists , you don't have to read all of them unless you're doing an essay on that topic!
-Some lecturers are better than others but don't doze off - chances are you'll miss something
-If you miss lectures email the lecturer , its polite and builds rapport you can later use for a reference (see:real world)
-look at essay questions EARLY = the library only has so many books on your subject...

Awesome. By the way, would you advise that you pick a spread of topics or whatever? I mean, I really only like pre Victorian history but I feel like I'd be stupid to not look at Victorian to modern-day... I dunno.

Ideally pick the ones you're passionate about as they'll be easier to study but a good mix could arguably keep things fresh for you!

Don't be apprehensive about the workload; in first year it really isn't too bad. Keep up with the reading, as it helps you in the long term

Statistically speaking it's inevitable so long as the human race continues.

Neither, I intend to go into the law, as many of us do. If you want to bully anyone about employment statistics, turn on the geographers :P

If you had the stomach for it, why not.
Which is your country of choice that you will escape to once the debts and the mortgages pile up on you when you graduate and never find a job?

Historians can be very desirable employees - many go on to be lawyers, journalists, teachers, lecturers, politicians, accountants and so on. Don't be a STEM-snob.
