Log base 10. Ie how log5 is the same as log10^5 as you have written.

This is an important distinction when you come across the natural log, written as ln.

At university level and beyond, natural log is almost always just written as log, with ln only being used at A-Level.

I guess it depends on the course, but I have a habit of writing it as ln as most physicists do. Not that it is incorrect or anything. :redface:
