Okay inshallah,I'm willing to hear you out Hun x

Btw I never said Islam was perfect and that I agree with the actions of certain Muslims etc but I'm not going to be islamophobic towards Muslims because I myself don't know the ins and out of their religion

Hear me out? Better to get straight to the facts. Google PEW muslim opinion polls if you want evidence that supports my views on Islam, or have read of the Quran.

Isn't it amazing that the Neoconservative/Jewish/Atheist conspiracy manages to convince all these Muslims to pretend to be extremists and say crazy extreme things

I know right it seems Neoconservative/Jewish/Atheists are very busy booking mosques inviting people over to spout hatred and pretending to be Muslims

"To be convicted of committing a homosexual act under Islamic law, four people have to witness it, he explained."

So gay sex is fine as long as its not an orgy?

Many Islamists often claim this as a kind of backstop; i.e. "It doesn't matter our laws are so harsh because the four person rule means no-one will ever actually be in that situation".

The reality is that Islamists often don't stick to that rule anyway and people are convicted and executed, or sometimes if the sharia law can't get them then a mob will come to their house and kill them instead.

Also, it's eminently plausible that the four person rule would be met if two guys are getting hot with each other and then some guys burst through the door
Same-sex marriages were just legalised in the UK in 2014. Before that it was illegal. How horrific

The biggest irony is that man-on-man sexual relations is completely rampant in the Islamic world. A friend of mine who worked in Saudi Arabia (and who is gay, and pretty masculine though also very attractive) said he has never been propositioned by so many men as when he was in Saudi Arabia. He said dozens of men, from 18 to 60, would make lewd suggestions.

There's a good article in the Atlantic that talks about the rampant nature of homosexual sex in Arabia

http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2007/05/the-kingdom-in-the-closet/305774/

This is what happens when you have sex segregation; it's like living in a prison.

Pakistan has the highest amount of gay porn viewers of any country.

I think this is what's known as "splitting". Repressing your sexuality can be dangerous.

Yup, because morally there's no difference between homosexuals only being able to do civil partnerships on the one hand, and killing them on the other

The West doesn't have a perfect record on LGBT rights, but they have made huge strides in the last 40 years and to use their past as a justification for the obscene Islamic hostility to LGBT is dishonest

My point is that you also come from a culture that didn't like homosexual peeps. Well you didn't, your ancestors or relatives certainly did.

Homosexuality was legalised in 2014 in the UK, But No one was killed for being openly gay though. At-least not without being arrested for murder

Your point is quite flawed my friend.

My friend has a pretty healthy libido and in theory someone might find it hot to have so many prospective sexual partners (and Arab guys can be pretty attractive... at least before they hit 30 when they go downhill quickly).

But the reality is he said it was disgusting, there was something really wrong about the character of their sexual desire for other males. He said it seemed really deformed and repulsive, and vaguely threatening (i.e. they might be violent).

Presumably he perceived it in that way because it's completely unnatural for men who are normally heterosexual to do that, and so the same-sex desire they have, such as it is, is deformed and mentally ill. The men become less civilised, as if they're just a bunch of dogs on heat rather than human beings.

Massively ironic given Islam claims to civilise sexual impulses and make people less animalistic. In reality Islam creates mental illness and sickness where healthy sexuality should be

as a muslim, can i just say what the doctor did was disgusting, you see you've got loads of different muslims. there are homosexual muslims etc etc. my friends are homosexual and lgbt supporters. i don't go round killing them. so theres a difference between the extreme muslims who think that their beliefs should apply to everybody and those keep their beliefs to themselves and don't force it down peoples throats becasue free will mate. do what you want.

plus that doctor is probs going to hell on the last day because above anything else you should not murder, basic belief in all religions

That is a dishonest argument. The last person was executed for homosexual conduct almost 200 years ago in the UK.

The fact that the UK used to be discriminatory and hostile to LGBT people is not a justification for the Islamic world continuing to be like that.

But to be Muslim but also friendly to the LGBT you kind-of have to ignore your religion's tenets, don't you? And that's the point; you can only be a good person in that area by ignoring what your religion teaches, which means that the religion is flawed in that area

It's not like the link between Islam and homophobia is random and coincidental; polls show that Muslims have much lower levels of tolerance for homosexuality and all the countries that execute gay people are Islamic

There's a predictable relationship between the two; the more strict and "more Islamic" a person or group is, the more homophobic they tend to be.

Wow

Alan Turing anybody? Made one of the biggest contributions to UK war effort, was forced to be castrated and then killed himself.

I completely agree with you. What happened to Turing was outrageous, to persecute a man who made such great contributions to the war.

But I would postulate that over the last 200 years in the UK and the West we see a consistent movement in the direction of more rights for homosexuals, removing discrimination and laws that persecute them.

We can see no such movement towards greater homosexual rights (or even just not killing them) in countries like Saudi Arabia. If anything, things are getting worse. Where in Saudi Arabia gay people could at least live their lives as long as it was behind closed doors, in recent years the Saudi government has been using surveillance technology to pursue gay people (i.e. sting operations on Grindr, shutting down private parties etc)

I think the point she is making is until recently (and still in many places of the UK) homsexuality is persecuted, it may no longer receive quite so heavy a sentence, but it is only in recent history that it has become a legal practice, and that's ignoring the widespread hostility in the 70s, 80s, and 90s which saw people get beat up regularly as a way of doing it under the legal radar.

On a slightly related note, I took some time to read through the records of the Old Bailey and looking at the cases involving homosexuality. Some of them were really sad.

In one in the 1790s there were two guys around 18 or 19, two apprentices if I remember correctly. They rented a room together, and the landlady looked through the keyhole and saw them together. She called the magistrate and they were arrested and hanged :frown:

islam does condemn homosexuality but im not homosexual, my friends aren't muslims so their belief is different to mine so theres no point. also if i were to do something that is against christianity or another religion, the believers of that religion wouldn't go "Jesus said that so now i will kill you"

and islam teaches us to love one another and peace and justice etc, so yh
