Applying for accommodation questions.

One of the questions is "Would you prefer a quieter environment? Yes/no/don't mind"
Would your answer affect which residence you will be put in if you don't get your first choice, if so which would be the quieter residences?
or do they use your answer to group similar people in a flat?
