Presidents there can only run for two terms. It's the 22nd amendment.
-You can't run for more than two terms in the US.

-Probably Clinton *drinks bleach* *vomits*

-Sanders

Nope he can't. He will probably get a job on the board/directorship of a company (probably wall street) along with his president pension and be set for life...

Yeah, FDR was the exception, because he got America out of the great depression in the 1930s.

EDIT: actually the ammendment was passed after FDR

I think so, that might have been before the Amendment though (can't remember the dates off the top of my head)
He can only be president for two terms. However it doesn't state he can't run again. So the next election he could run again but I doubt he would want to.

Lol, your post is highly deceptive, but well done on the ingenuity :congrats:

First, I am an objective observer of the US elections.

I think it will be Donald Trump. Many people hate to hear his name as the likely successor of President Obama, but the stats are pointing towards him.

There are 4 major contenders: Trump, Cruz, Clinton and Sanders.

Cruz is "hated" by many people even Republicans. It will be unlikely for him to get the nomination to even represent his Party.

Clinton is seen as being part of the old guard. The Obama/Bill Clinton era of Democratic politics. People are fed up with Democrats and Obama. It is evident with the elections in the Congress, where the Democrats have never won majority in Congress since Obama took office.

Bernie Sanders is loathed for his radical socialist plans. He will destroy the very foundation of American capitalism that has made people rich and created the current world economy. It will be near impossible for him to become President, even if he wins the Democratic Party nomination.

Trump is a sly fox. He knows that people are fed up with the current government and are afraid of many things. So he proposes radical things that he feels people will jump on the bandwagon. His attack on Muslims, Migrants, Healthcare, Women's rights etc have shockingly given different sections of the American public something to dig into during the campaign.

I think in the end, Trump will come across as the "lesser" of two evils because people will not believe that he will do all the rubbish that he proposes to do. The final battle will be Trump vs Sanders and Trump will be victorious.

Now, I am not a fan of Donald Trump, but the numbers, so far, have amazed me.

I thought he ran for his third (and subsequently fourth) because of the US wanted stability during the second world war?

He can't because if he won then he'd be serving a third term, but yeah I really doubt he'd want to regardless.

The amendment doesn't say consecutive terms - it limits any individual to two terms in office, so Obama can't run for president again - not now, not in 2020 or beyond, unless the 22nd amendment is repealed.

22nd amendment!
Wow!

My teacher said he could run again so that's where I got it from. But that's only after someone else has been president and he runs again but I'm not sure where she got the idea from.
