Guys- would you date/ marry a teacher?

A certain compatibility of viewpoints is more the issue here.

I would probably have more in common with the average private sector worker I would imagine. The profession itself clearly isn't a problem.

Do you work in those plush glass panel buildings then?
Actually find that quite insulting. Why would becoming a primary school teacher be unambitious?

If I did I probably wouldn't be on TSR on a Monday morning.

I think you are missing the point.

Would you date (with the view of eventually marrying) a primary school teacher? Or would you view her as unambitious?

Why would it be unambitious ? No one would ever be ambitious if they were not at primary school first.

Spoiler

Nah. Teachers are tree-hugging lefty Guardian readers and most of them can't teach. Bunch of tax-eating wasters who go home at 3:30pm, get three months holiday and then moan constantly because they are stressed and overworked.

if you are in love then career profile is irrelevant

On a more serious note I would have no problem dating a teacher. A person is not defined by their profession.

However, I must admit to having a general preference for private sector workers over public sector ones.

I definitely agree:top:

'smashing' in what sense? Sexual or career wise?

I get it now. Yeah I do agree that some teachers are detached from reality, after all it is a demanding job role and despite the good holidays, most teachers end up working most of them. I guess dating a teacher could be difficult as contrasting opinions arise and you might have to be on your 'best behaviour'. Because of their squeaky clean image.
