Just seems a bit ironic how feminists are always complaining about men, when in fact women seem to be just as capable of slut-shaming and having very conservative views about how women should and shouldn't act.

I don't know any feminists who always complain about men.

Maybe you should stop hanging around with those feminists?

Funny how people are actually convinced you're a woman

I'm pretty convincing.

I don't think she should be fired.
I think it's completely out of order on the school's part but frankly you have to be damn careful what you allow to end up on social media as you lose all rights to that information.

Why are you saying this? I didn't say "every feminist complains about men". I'm just showing you that regardless, there is a very large population of those who do.

Because you linked to a site dedicated to finding posts on tumblr that agree with what they're expecting to find.

As I said - none of the feminists I know complain about men. None of the major feminist texts "complain about men". If that's your experience of feminism then you're looking in a very narrow pool. Apparently a pool of third hand stories posted by anti feminists.

In other words both the site you linked to and your opinion of feminists is heavily influenced by confirmation bias.

Also, who's to say you aren't influenced by confirmation bias, but just in favour of feminism? I've had to read plenty of feminist texts, in fact I'm literally writing an essay that's about feminism now, and I can tell you there are plenty that have pretty sour attitudes towards men.
That's awful... But hilarious

I don't see what the problem is. We live in an age where internet enabled smartphones clock everything. Her pretend ignorance doesn't fly with me. If you don't want the stuff you get up to in your private life to go "viral" then you should be careful.

Twerking is a repulsive act and the sexual connotations are overt. The school did the right thing imo. Kids are incredibly sexualised these days. We don't need the people that are paid to educate and inspire young minds magnifying the problem.

Saudi Arabia. Go and live there.

This is insane!
Why would they fire her? What does something she did during her own personal free time have to do with her teaching ability?
It's ridiculous and she's right. The school should get with the times. It's the 21st century.

Fair enough. I wouldn't want my young daughter seeing this and thinking it's OK to strip half-naked and perform a semi-pornographic display in front of a large crowd. We all have our obligations and lines not to cross because of work.

What for having an opinion that you don't agree with? Stop being a clown.

It's just a suggestion.
I'm torn on this. On the one hand it's her free time and she should be free to do what she wants.

On the other hand, cultural appropriation is wrong, so overall I think she should be fired.
in reply to OP, that is pretty ridiculous. Yes, if she wore uniform showing the school's name or did it on school grounds i would agree but jeez, she's not setting a bad example of the school so her out-of-work life shouldn't have to interfere with her work life.
Yes twerking shouldn't be done everywhere including in front of very young audiences.
No she shouldn't have been fired for that, it's ridiculous as she doesnt display the schools info and isnt in front of loads of little kids.
although on the note of twerking recently i saw some 5 year olds twerking as i was walking up the high street and in my opinion that's just wrong. but that's just me

But I don't see how any primary school kid would find this kind of video anyway. Especially if the parents are strict with their internet usage.
In fact the only way someone could have found the video is if you purposely typed 'sexy twerking vids' into Google. Young kids are more interested in Pokemon methinks

Would you want someone like that teaching your kid? I ask with discretion considering I've no idea who you are, if you want kids, or if you even care about parenting, there are interesting people out here. But I definitely wouldn't want someone carelessly acting a drunken partying fool anywhere near my children.

I'm well aware people do crazy things in their own private time, including children's parents and well the children too, but the difference is the dignity in privacy and being an example for the very people you teach and work with. It's viral so obviously the parents will see, the staff, the students. It's just a bad ass look and weird almost disgusting that my child would know what her teacher's bum looks like, and that you're meant to respect and kinda look up to your teachers; they're around people's kids more than the parents. I don't want my kid looking up to some raunchy circus animal.

Do what you want but in your personal time and that wasn't personal time; that was on camera, outside, broad daylight, romping her rump on random dudes. I don't care what piece of paper she has saying she has the basic qualifications to teach.
Nice song by Daddy Yankee. But that also doesn't even qualify as twerking.

Twerking is isolating the booty meat

And then shaking the booty meat.

Not simply tooting your lower back bone up and down like an old man, while your buttcheeks don't move. Girl, sit. :hand:
