No, I agree with the firing. I don't care that it was in her own time - it was still very unprofessional behaviour that is not what one would expect from a primary school teacher. How on Earth is the profession ever going to be respected if teachers are doing that?

Having fun is just so unprofessional. Imagine if one of her students saw it and realized that teachers are real people!!!! Think of the children!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice song by Daddy Yankee. But that also doesn't even qualify as twerking.

Twerking is isolating the booty meat

And then shaking the booty meat.

Not simply tooting your lower back bone up and down like an old man, while your buttcheeks don't move. Girl, sit. :hand:

This made me laugh

will reply to earlier quote when I'm on my laptop and I can type properly

LOL I was seriously thinking of tagging you but I'm going to your VM if I may.
Actually I should probably PM it
Tbh I'd be concerned if she was teaching my kids

I don’t agree in this day and age with any professional affiliation dictating what you do in your private life. But if they want teachers to act with professional decorum they need to pay them a professional salary.

Agreed. Gov treats teachers and the education system like shite

Why though?

Why though?

Idk something along the lines of self respect. If she's um, 'open' enough to go into public like that, who knows what she'll be teaching the kids

I may be wrong and making no sense but to me, teachers should be role models. 'Self-respect' does mean different things to different people though

Why would she be teaching the kids anything different to any other teachers? Lots of people get drunk and do stupid things, and then go to work and do their job properly the next day. Most people just don't end up on Youtube. If they did, I think you'd be shocked at the drunken antics some of your teachers got up to.

Most have enough sense not to let it end up on Youtube?

But I don't see how any primary school kid would find this kind of video anyway. Especially if the parents are strict with their internet usage.
In fact the only way someone could have found the video is if you purposely typed 'sexy twerking vids' into Google. Young kids are more interested in Pokemon methinks

Thanks to the Year 8 lad crew I had been exposed to hardcore porn by the time I was 7 years old. That was in 2001. The idea that a globally viral video of your teacher violently twerking is not going to descend the playground grapevine in 2016 is absolutely ridiculous, safesearch or not (with YouTube this is potentially not even relevant).

If your only objection to her being fired is that her tiny tot students were unlikely to see the video then you have no case

This is insane!
Why would they fire her? What does something she did during her own personal free time have to do with her teaching ability?
It's ridiculous and she's right. The school should get with the times. It's the 21st century.

The video:

Indeed. It's not like she was twerking in the student's faces, this is her personal life. And she's 24 ffs.

Unfortunately America has form for firing teachers for their personal life. There was a gay teacher who had his DropBox hacked, they found a video of him having sex with his boyfriend or something. He was fired

America is so achingly puritanical
Yes let's all get with the times...

Don't you think more effort should be put into dealing with these 'lads' that corrupt young children rather than cracking down on teachers on holiday?

No it's not my only objection.

A teacher commands a rolemodel position in a way that a 12 year old does not

A teacher is employed to serve as a rolemodel

Sharing porn videos and actually being the subject of them are on different levels of seriousness

It is nigh on impossible to police young boys on the internet without supervision than it is to set precedents for how teachers should behave on pain of unemployment and disgrace

No it's not my only objection.
