yeah i did actually they were both great. but Brunel was sickkkkkkkkk, what other unis have you applied to just in case you don't get in? and what are the entry requirement? did you get an offer from UCL? and did you have the chance to visit?

UCL gave me an offer of A*AA, it's my firm choice but my insurance is UEA which requires AAB. I visited UEA a couple of times and it did impress me but I visited UCL once on an offer holder day and that was it, I knew I couldn't be as happy anywhere else. :colondollar: Unfortunately it is more than likely that I will not achieve the requisite grades.
I'm guessing you'd really like to study in London too, seeing as both of your top choices are in London?

Have you done a politics mock exam?

No I don't live in London.

Yep, did a politics mock and I think I got a B (can't really remember)... I would like to improve upon that though and get an A.

Hmm I've been neglecting unit 4. Why is almost everyone (incl. me) doing ideologies super stressed?!

Hey, I'm defo super stressed. The content is waaaaay heavy and a more advanced. I got a C and a B last year so I'm re-:sitting unit 1 and hoping for an overall A, I just don't think I'm going to make the cut ;(((.

For unit 4, feminism - I would say I only know sex&gender, and liberal feminism and liberal nationalism for nationalism so more needs to be done.

How are you finding unit 3 revision?
hey guys, im doing edexcel and am really struggling to revise for unit 3. my teachers not the best. does anyone have any recommendations for good revision sources??

Honestly, at the moment I don't even know how I'm finding the revision, I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing.

Honestly it was a low B and I need to do so much better. No, sorry, I don't but the pearson/edexcel website has all of the exam papers/mark schemes/examiner's reports and I think might help you? That way you can work out a pattern yourself or see if the questions repeat?

I've been looking for a thread for this for ages, yay!

I'm doing Conservatism, Liberalism and Socialism for the first paper and Feminism, Ecologism and Nationalism for the second one.

Is anyone else finding paper 1 revision so much more difficult?

Do any of you have useful resources / predictions?! :frown:

That's interesting... why Socialism and not Anarchism, and also why Ecologism and not Multiculturalism? (You can see that Socialism and Ecologism are not my favourites, but to be fair my opinion on the ideologies changes quite often.)

Is there an official thread for political ideologies on the Edexcel board, or is this it?

June 2015
Paper 3B

Section A:

1. Explain the link between anarchism and individualism.
2. How do traditional conservatives and the New Right differ in their views of society?
3. Why have some socialists supported a revolutionary 'road' to socialism?
4. To what extent have liberals disagreed over freedom?
5. In what sense do anarchists hold a positive view of human nature?

Section B:

1. To what extent is conservatism a philosophy of human imperfection?
2. 'Socialism is defined by its commitment to collectivism.' Discuss.
3. To what extent have liberals endorsed the principle of equality?

I don't think there is an official thread! I looked for one for ages but came across this, so I suppose this should be the official thread? :dontknow:

Recently I have found that Unit 4 is coming along so much better. But that is probably because we've been revising the unit in class, and the lessons have been very well structured.
Unit 3 seems to be more expansive in comparison for some reason...
How are you doing with revision?

I've totally lost track now tbh... I'm pretty sure I've covered them all now anyway, at least we've done so in lesson. Still need to go over them all again, because evidently not a lot has gone in!

Hmm... I quite like the conservatism one.
