Hi , I am £1k worse off this year with my maintenance loan ???
I have nearly finished my first year 2015/15 and applied for 2016/17 and the student finance has been approved with the maintanance loan reduced by about £1k , is this right can anyone advise ??

Has your household income increased?
Or has a sibling left home/finished university?
Those are the most common reasons for a drop in your loan amounts.
Alternatively if your household income hasn't been assessed in full yet then it may be that the portal is just showing the basic loan that you can get without your income being assessed.
