No they weren't, they were standard pop music, prominent hooks, simple structures, dance percussion and heavy emphasis on the star and not the music. And mostly not even written by him.

Nah more than 70% if you think about it. Whether people realise it or not just having music videos with plots and dancing in them is Michael Jackson
