I live in the North. There is no arrogance here. Again, that argument is completely unfounded. The Sinn Féin vote share in the NI Assembly as of now is 26.9% to a DUP majority of 30.1%.
Stop trying to take cheap shots, go to the MHoC threads and engage in some proper debate.

People voting for Sinn Fein is not a reliable indication of where they stand on this issue any more than it is for the DUP. Better to look at polls which ask people directly, and these demonstrate a sizeable majority wishing to remain in the union in the north.
'Opinion polls of the Northern Ireland population have consistently shown majorities opposed to a United Ireland and in support of Northern Ireland remaining part of the United Kingdom. For example, the 2013 annual Northern Ireland Life and Times survey conducted by the Queen's University Belfast and Ulster University found that a united Ireland was the favoured long term option of 15% of the population while remaining part of the United Kingdom was the favoured long term option of 66% of the population.'

What is the general consensus (if any) amongst Irish republicans on the European Union and the upcoming British referendum? Will republicans in Ulster participate in the election?
I think Republicanism is 80/20 stay. We still acknowledge that a huge amount of NI funding comes from the EU and under a British government said funds would not be recovered. Unionism has some stronger ties to British Euroscepticism.

We prefer a rational debate on the very issue, on current polling the majority would choose to stay, that's fine. I however would like an honest inquest into how much better off/worse off financially wed be under a UI if wanted. A report that theorised trade would increase if Ireland united was dismissed as "propaganda" - we support the terms of the GFA in that we should have the chance to unite should the majority support it.
Yeah. It's annoying that's there's nothing really to be done about that, short of relying on the public's commitment to the process to get folk back in line.
Do you agree that Charles Boycott was a true hero?
Nope, never covered Boycott in history class but at a time of rife absentee landlords he represented everything that the Fenian movement needed to stop. Parnell is the true hero for introducing the boycott.
What is your opinion on the Official Irish Republican Army?
Traitorous, while I have an element of sympathy when the IRA were acting in their role of defending Catholics, the OIRA refused to do so and to me let down the movement.

Opinion polls? Ha! That shows how much you know. Opinion polls are a far, far less reliable method in the North. They are rarely trusted here. They are notorious for being unreliable because of the vastly different opinions across the Six Counties and because people always deceive the people doing the poll.
Also the reason why I said Sinn Féin and not all nationalist parties is because moderate nationalists that do not necessarily favour a united Ireland do not vote SF, they'll vote SDLP to protect their interests as Catholics.
What is your opinion on the Official Irish Republican Army?
Ooo loads of good questions The Officials were...an interesting political movement as socialists, but a useless incarnation of the IRA. Their main purpose was to defend their people and assert the Irish people's right to the ownership of Ireland through armed revolution. They did not do this, and caused the split into the Provisionals, and another split from the Officials into the socialist Irish National Liberation Army, the INLA, known for the assassination of Airey Neave.
although the IRA were complete a-holes they compare quite favorably with the uber-a-holes of Daesh.
The thing is Irish Republicanism is a very very old concept and has been supported for hundreds of years, and has masses of sympathisers across the globe that aren't psychopaths. And I can guarantee ye that no RA man would like the idea of suicide bombing.
"Remember the good old days, we'd ring ye up, have a wee chat, tell ye where the bomb was, where it was going off? Ah we were a better class o murdering bastards, we were!"
