GCSEs: 1 A, 8 Bs, 1 C
AS-Levels (English Lang, Critical Thinking): BC
A-Levels (Psychology, Law, Philosophy) ABB
Undergrad (Psychology): First
MSc (Sport & Exercise Psych): Merit (should have got a Distinction, but I had 5 months in hospital for anorexia treatment and then relapsed, so I let it affect me too much)

Career: Civil Service FastStream (started on 4th April!) - starting salary just over ~£29k.

And it is amazing, I love it.

Tips on getting in?

It's a rank.

Consulting firms usually rank their employees as such:
- Business Analyst (could also be called 'associate consultant', 'associate', 'analyst'; but these are entry level where undergrads and MSc grads enter)
- Consultant
- Senior Consultant (usually where MBA grads enter or you get promoted from the prior rank)
- Manager
- Senior Manager
- Partner

The names themselves vary a LOT firm by firm, but it gives you a general idea.

What Uni did you go to?

Can I ask, what website or company did you apply to?

Thanks

Economics first time

Masters in economics now, hopefully with a specialisation in international development. I don't have the funds to re-do an undergrad and there were not many science masters that would let me on. So this seemed like the best path.

I went to a low ranking Uni somewhere between 90-100...

Originally I applied on the civil service website and I've done a few different roles.

Yes I work for HMRC, yes I enjoy it and yes I would recommend it.

GCSEs: 8A3A*
Alevels: BCC
Aslevels: AC
Degree: 2.1

Job: International Education consultant
(Work in China, consulting with students, schools and universities on studying abroad, and all areas of education in western countries)

Had a few stupid years during my Alevels, aside from that I have always achieved reasonably highly. It took me a long-time to recover from that though.. and although now (age 25) I have got my life right back on track, have a job I love, earn a really nice wage, etc. It should have never been as much of a pain as it has been, if only I had not lost focus during Alevels.

So message to all the younger members: Don't **** around during school..
